Backend Developer

We’re looking for a Backend Developer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain object-oriented SECURE backend applications.
• Write elegant, efficient, concise code that follows best practices.
• Create, build, and consume REST APIs / SOAP.
• Define and communicate technical and design requirements.
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Create UI solutions with the user in mind.
• Build and maintain reusable code, internal libraries, and documentation.
• Responsible for optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of and experience with OOP PHP7+
• Experience with any PSR-compliant PHP framework, such as Laravel, Symfony, Drupal, CodeIgniter, etc.
• Database experience with MySQL and/or Postgres
• Ability to work raw SQL queries including joins and sub-selects without the use of an ORM layer.
• Experience working within Moodle is a huge plus
• Must be comfortable with asking questions as needed and working out solutions with team members
• Extraordinary ethics and compassion for your colleagues
• Understanding of issue tracking systems, such as Jira
• Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, foundation, and JavaScript. Bonus for React/Vue/Angular
• Desire and motivation to learn is valued above all else
• Minimum Experience 4-5 Years.
